Nawaz advises Gilani to respect the court

Sukkur: (Tuesday, January 17, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) chief while talking to media representatives here today at Sukkur airport advised Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to show respect for the apex court and
to appear in the contempt of court case before the Supreme Court.

He said, “Gilani should face the Supreme Court bench. The situation would have been different today had he acted upon my advices.”

Alleging that besides PPP, its ruling alliance was also involved in humiliating prestigious institutions including courts, Nawaz said, “They (coalition partners) are equally responsible for the present political turmoil.”

During his visit to Sindh, the PML-N chief also visited Pir Jo Goth to meet Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi, the newly elected Pir Pagara of the Hur community and to condole the sad demise of his father Pir Pagara II.

Talking to the reporters along with Pir Pagara, PML-N chief accused the ruling alliance of pushing the democracy to the edge where it had to fight for its survival.

Ruling out the option to form a political coalition with Pakistan Peoples’ Party, and pledging to create an alliance with PML-Functional, Nawaz attributed the country’s present situation to the present regime. He said, “Pakistan
is passing through critical phase…. we all should join hands together because no single party can steer it out of crisis.”

Urging the government to abide by apex court’s verdict in NRO case, the PML-N chief stressed it to write letter to Swiss authorities for details of President Zardari’s bank accounts. He said, “Why they are reluctant to contact
Swiss government? Mr. Zardari should prove that this is his own money, and not of the nation.”
