Difa-e-Pakistan Council to hold public rally in Karachi

Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) will hold a sit-in in front of parliament on February 20 against drone attacks and expected restoration of NATO supplies, while it would call an all parties conference (APC) on Baluchistan issue on 27 instant in Quetta.

Chairman Difa-e-Pakistan Council Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, Ameer of JI Syed Munawar Hassan, and Ameer Jammad-ud-Dawah Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said this during a luncheon hosted by President Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in honour of council’s leadership at a local hotel here on Saturday.

On the occasion Liaquat Baloch, Lt.Gen(R) Hameed Gul, Dr Ajmal Qadri, Ijaz-ul-Haq, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman Khalil, Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Allama Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi and Dr Khadim Hussain were also present on the occasion.

Maulana Sami-ul-Haq said that the public rally at Karachi, which is going to be held on Sunday (12 February), would be turning point to gather the people on single platform. He said that an important meeting would be held on 19 February in which heads of all parties in Difa-e-Pakistan Council.

“We strongly protest over intervention of US Congress’s Committee on Defence in the issue of Baluchistan. Entire leadership of Difa-e-Pakistan Council has some apprehensions on the issue. The people of Baluchistan are not alone but whole council is standing behind them”, he added.

Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan said that US takes Pakistan as an easy prey, but is her biggest mistake. The so-called war against terrorism is the battle of American interests but Pakistani rulers are making it their own war.

He said that thousands of Pakistani citizens are being vanished, which are handed over to the USA by security agencies. He said that it was point to kick the bucket for the government that drone attacks were still going on.

At the same time, NATO supply route is also opened and Pakistani air bases are being used for the purpose.

Sahibzada Abu Al Khair said that DPC would struggle for freedom from US. Hafiz Saeed said that DPC had honoured those resolutions that the Parliament had discarded. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed refuted claims that a new political alliance on the pattern of IJI was in offing.
