HTC One X (2012): Complete Review – Part 2

The One X sports a plastic body instead of a metallic aluminium one but bear with it, the quality is not cheap. One X is made of single piece of premium material, polycarbonate plastic. But do not get carried away, the casing is prone to stains and smudges that become even more prominent in grey and white colours.

The flat slab structure, smoothly rounded at the edges, is 5.3 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide by 0.36 inch thick, which makes it one of the thinnest smartphones from HTC. In addition, its 4.6-ounce weight offers a solid feel in the hands.

At the front side is a 4.7-inch Super-LCD screen with a 720p (1,280×720-pixel) resolution. However, it is a turndown from One S’ Super AMOLED qHD screen that boosts up colour saturation and brings deeper blacks to the equation.

On the top of the large screen is a 1.3-mega pixel camera, which is good for video chatting and casual shots, but do not get your hopes high. Beneath the screen sit three mandatory buttons: back, home and recent apps.

A volume rocker resides on the right edge, while a micro-USB port for charging and PC/Mac connectivity is on the other side. The power/sleep toggle, 3.5mm headset jack and a micro-SIM card tray reside on the top edge.

An 8-mega pixel full HD camera is nestled at slightly but beautifully curved back. It is accompanied by an LED flash source.

HTC has deprived One X from a removable battery and expandable micro-SD card options, however, internal 16 GB storage capacity is good enough for keeping movies, tunes and reading material.
