Apple will launch the iPad Mini in October, sources confirm

September 12 launch event is solely dedicated to the new version of iPhone

Apple will probably release the new and smaller iPad, claimed by many sources to named as iPad Mini, in October 2012. ATD’s John Paczkowski reported earlier that a number of authentic sources have confirmed that the new tablet will not be shown off on Apple’s September 12 keynotes event.

There were rumours in certain circles in July that the new smaller iPad will adorn the shelves alongside the new iPhone expected to take centre-stage at the September 12 event. The recent Apple-Samsung case has revealed substantial data confirming that the Cupertino giants are indeed working on a smaller, allegedly a 7-inch, version of the iPad.

The new iPad might be launched on October, there is no confirming the fact, but the mass production of the device will start in the latter part of September with a monthly volume capacity of 4 million to keep up with the expected post-release demand of the device.

There were telltales in August that the new iPad will be released to the public in the holiday season this year to compete with the expected release of new Windows 8 tablets and new Amazon Kindle Fire. Amazon is rumoured to launch the new iteration of its tablet in September; invites to a September 6 event have already been rolled out to developers and media personnel.

The new iPad and next generation iPhone are both receiving one major update to its connecting dock, sources confirm. The previous 30-pin dock connector is now being replaced by a smaller 8-pin jack to make room for complex circuitry inside.

Word on the street is that Apple might also re-release the third generation iPad with the new dock connector at September 12 event or may be further down the road in 2012.
