Ryan Cochrane and Noemie Thomas pocket gold medals – Austin Grand Prix

Ryan Cochrane and Noemie Thomas pocketed gold medals of the Men’s 400m freestyle and Women’s 100m butterfly respectively on first day of the 2013 Austin Grand Prix.

Cochrane faced tough competition from his following finisher and tapped the wall for gold medal with an effort of 3 minutes and 52.07 seconds.

Cochrane was followed by Michael McBroom, who was 0.34 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 3 minutes and 52.41 seconds.

McBroom remained almost two and a half body lengths slower from Michael Klueh, who emerged on the wall for third position by touching the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 54.82 seconds.

Fourth best spot of the race was gained by Tyler Clary, who was nearly 0.34 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 55.16 seconds.

Clary was chased by Alec Page, who remained 0.90 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 56.06 seconds for fifth position

On the other hand, Thomas occupied gold medal of the 100m butterfly. Thomas remained nearly one and a half body lengths ahead of her closes competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for first position by touching the wall with an effort of 58.88 seconds.

The champion was chased by Audrey Lacroix, who was 1.26 seconds behind and occupied silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 00.14 seconds.

The silver medallist stayed half a body length ahead of her following swimmer, Kathryn McLaughlin, who ended third in the race by producing an effort of 1 minute and 00.82 seconds.

Fourth finest position of the race was earned by Ally Howe, who remained 0.23 seconds behind and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 01.05 seconds.

In addition, the arena appreciated notable efforts of all participants in their exclusive events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their commendable forms after the session.
