HTC Rezound with Beats Audio released in the US and the UK

HTC released its new Android phone, HTC Rezound on Friday, November 11 in the US and UK. However, the phone will soon hit the shores in Asia and several parts of Europe.

Despite the HTC tag and Android OS inside, the new phone has some aspects that might make it a difficult for users in Asia to make a switch from their current possessions.

The phone, though is a beautiful piece of engineering and has in-market components, is only CDMA and LTE based. Therefore, for users on GSM network, it is near to be a worthless smartphones.

However, in the US and the UK, where still there is a huge market for the TDMA and CDMA phones, the phone will be new sensation not only for a cheaper price tag of $299 without a contract and great looks.

The4.3-inch LED screen is nestled in a 2.6 (width) x 0.4 (thickness) x 5.1 (height) frame beautifully and the steel touch on the back gives a firm feel to the handset.

The Rezound is powered by a 1.2 dual-core processor with 1 GB RAM in its support to run Android Gingerbread efficiently on it.

The screen however, is not AMOLED, the current tech trending in the smartphone industry but the aspect is overshadowed again by the price.

There is an 8 mega-pixel camera on the back side that can record 720p resolution video. Bluetooth and WiFi are, as always, integral part of the Rezound.

As the name refers to, the users can expect a revamped and crisp sound from the phone. However, Beats Audio software, recently introduced by HTC can only work in the music player, the video can only be viewed with ordinary sound selections but even that
works marvellously.

On the downside, the call quality is not up to the mark and could be made better. It’s a hardware shortcoming and cannot be overcome with a software patch. The hefty design, although is graceful but still gives a fatter look to the phone as compared to its
counterparts including the ones from HTC.

Overall, the phone is a good bargain for $299 and gives complete sensation of a full fledge personal digital assistant, the main purpose it was born to accomplish.
