Visas confirmed for India snooker squad: 2012 Seven-nation International Snooker Championship

Visas for the Indian squad to take part in the 2012 Jubilee Insurance Seven-nation International Snooker Championship have been confirmed. The squad will be arriving Pakistan on Saturday,
March 3 via Wahga Border.

Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) spokesman confirmed about the Indian team getting visas in a press conference on Friday, March 2. The two-man squad from India will be
playing against the top potters from six other snooker nations that are participating in the tournament. These countries including India are; Pakistan, Bahrain, Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran and Thailand.

Speaking to the media about the visas, PBSA President Alamgir Shaikh said, “Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to Yasin Merchant and Faisal Khan and they may be reaching
Karachi tomorrow. Securing the visas of Indian team is big boost because Yasin Merchant is a former Asian champion and had played here on many occasions in the past.”

The 2012 Jubilee Insurance Seven-nation International Snooker Championship will commence from Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi.

The international cueists participating in the tournament are: Yasin Raza Merchant and Mohammad Faisal Khan of India, Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed and Yasir Ahmed Mohamed Elsherbiny of Egypt,
Hossein Vafaei Ayouri and Syed Abooyesani of Iran, Mohammad Al Joaker and Mohammad Mustafa Shehab of UAE, Noppon Saengkham and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thailand, and Hussain Mahmood, Habib Subah from Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Sultan Mohammad, Mohammad Asif, Naveen Kumar Perwani, Mohammad Sajjad, Abdul Sattar, Sharjeel Mahmood, Vishan Gir and Sohail Shahzad will be representing Pakistan.
