Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors with possible upshot in the world of gadgetry – Part 1

Intel’s new line of processors was one of the eagerly awaited gadgetry this year. The release of the Ivy Bridge CPUs was one of the worst kept secrets and everybody in-touch with the latest happening in the technology world new about the processors. The company however, remained close-lipped at every event it showcased the new Ivy Bridge series.

Intel’s terminal at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 was unattractive scenery despite the fact that the company was launching the most important circuitry that will have major effects on the upcoming line of desktops, laptops and flamboyant ultrabooks.

Now that the company has initiated the first round of its new processors, things are getting interesting and the market is more speculative than ever. One of the important things to remember in this regard is that Ivy Bridge is not the official name of the new processors; it is an internal code name that got out before the actual product could.

The new line retains the same Core i3, i5 and i7 monikers that last year’s Sandy Bridge processor did. However, the transistors in the 2012 models have received a major reinforcement in terms of size, quantity and quality. The new silicon transistors nestled inside these CPUs are 22 nanometre in size as compared to last year’s 32 nanometre ligaments. This makes way for more processing units inside one brain and reduces the size of the circuit.

The new innovation from Intel is expected to bring massive changes to the current and upcoming line of electronic gadgets. The new ultrabook category is running hot streak with slim designs and impressive power efficiency and is expected to be affected the most with Ivy Bridge processors. Desktops and laptops are also expected to see changes in processing capabilities and size. Moreover, Ivy Bridge processors boast beefed up integrated GPUs.
