Asus ET2700INKS (2012): The Taiwanese company’s first 27-inch All-in-one Windows PC – Part 1

Asus rolled out the first 27-inch All-in-one desktop PC, ET2700INKS, this month. The new desktop is the Taiwanese company’s move to cater to the growing market for such devices.

The new computer costs a premium for all the hardware nestled inside a single case, much like HP. The new ET2700INKS will set the user back $1300, which is $150 more than what HP asks for. However, with the extra 150 bucks comes an NVIDIA graphics card and a Core i7 processor.

Though All-in-ones are never taken into account in terms of looks but this new product is good looking and sports a full-HD display as the icing. Moreover, it has Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It also has an external subwoofer that can be connected to the computer via the stereo 3.5mm headphones jack.

Comparing to the iMac from Apple is completely out of the question. The resolution of this device is nothing compared to the Apple 27-inch Apple product that sports a 2,560×1,440-pixel resolution. Moreover, iMac has proficient hardware that does not let any PC alternative to enter the territory.

However, comparing it the likes of 27-inch HP Omni 27 and Lenovo IdeaCenter B520 makes a lot of sense. The other two devices offer some advantages and some disadvantages over this the fellow. Though the Lenovo has a discrete GPU from NVIDIA and a heavier and better performing Core i7 quad-core CPU that is clocked at 3.4 GHz. Most importantly it is a 100 dollars cheaper than the Asus desktop.
