Asus ET2700INKS (2012): The Taiwanese company’s first 27-inch All-in-one Windows PC – Part 2

Design

The Asus ET2700INKS is a sleek and simple design but with attractive cuts and is slimmer than most of its competition in the market. It has all the notable ports and extensions and most importantly it brings along an external sub-woofer.

The 27-inch screen sports a 1920×1080-pixel resolution which is a standard for PC All-in-one with this screen size. To back the full-HD display, the Taiwanese company has installed an NVIDIA graphics card which will make do with most of the high-performing games.

There is a Blu-Ray Disc drive at the right side of the screen. The other side boasts USB 3.0, HDMI and VGA output ports. There are headphones and microphone jacks along the ports. All of these ports and slots are covered in a plastic lid that is installed there to give the device a complete look when it is closed.

The computer comes with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The keyboard is full with num pad which is normal and has comfortable keys. The mouse has a 3D scroller for scrolling long pages in both horizontal and vertical directions.

There is a sub-woofer provided with the system for better bass for movies and games. However, its power is limited due to the lack of a dedicated port. It has to be attached to the computer via 3.5mm headphones jack.

Hardware

The ET2700INKS comes preinstalled with 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 2600S; 8GB 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM; 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics card; 1TB 7,200rpm hard drive.

The operating system, for the time being, is Windows 7 Home Premium but according to the company it will be upgradable to Windows 8 when it is launched later this year.
