Government hoping to trade petrochemicals with India – Pakistan oil and gas news

Oil Minister
Hussein Asim said on Monday that there is potential for trade in oil products between India and Pakistan, which is interested in importing heating oil and diesel fuel from a neighboring country.
The start of negotiations
in this area would be a step in the right direction, Hussein said during a meeting with the Indian delegation which is visiting Pakistan to discuss the sale of petroleum products.
He briefed the delegation on the progress of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline project.

The Indian delegation was led by P Kalyanasundaram, Director (International Cooperation
and Corporate Affairs) at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Ezhaz said dialogue between the two sides will provide an opportunity for Indian businessmen to explore potential areas for trade with Pakistan.
The two-day talks will focus on the identification
of products, specifications, volumes, sources of supply and transport mechanism of trade between the two countries.
The Indian delegation includes representatives of the business of the leading companies,
such as oil Federation of India, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance Industries and Essar Oil.
The
Pakistan delegation was led by Shabbir Ahmed, secretary (international and joint ventures) in the oil ministry and its members include representatives of trade, foreign affairs and the Ministry of Finance, Federal Income, Pakistan State Oil and Attock Refinery
Limited.
