Google, Inc. is literally stepping on the toes of the likes of Apple and Microsoft. The search engine maestro released the first Google tablet on the first day of Google I/O, the company’s annual developers’ conference. It was clearly a reply to Microsoft’s Surface tablets released less than two weeks ago.

Now, the company has released the iOS versions of its signature web browser, Chrome, and the online clouding service, Google Drive. The company released the cloud service almost ten weeks ago and now has probed into the iOS world as well. Prior to iOS release, the service and the browser were available on Microsoft’s Windows, Apple’s Mac OS X and its own mobile operating system Android.

The service has a number of features in desktop versions and the company assured the audience at the presentation that most of the chunk has been retained in the mobile version, both for iOS and Android. The iOS devices that will take advantage of the service will be iPhone 4 and 4S, iPad—all generations, and iPod Touch.

“We brought many of the best features of Drive to mobile,” said Clay Bavor, director of product for Google Apps.

Since its release in April, Drive has attracted more than 10 million users to the service, statistics delivered by the company. Though at first the service gathered opprobrium from the experts all over the world for its privacy settings and agreement terms for using the content even after a user has relieved the service from its duties to him/her, its ease of use has been one of the attractions to the users.
