In recent developments, the new iPhone will be first Apple mobile device to incorporate the 19-pin smaller dock connector. This will give more room on the bottom of the device for a headphone jack, which for now rests on the top of the iPhone.

Release Date

The majority consensus is that the new iPhone will be released in the last week of September or the first two weeks of October. But, in the latest developments it has been hinted that the new phone might be released anywhere in the last quarter of 2012.

Verizon CFO Shammo hinted at possible timing of the device to be in the last quarter of calendar 2012, with a vague reference that the company expects to launch the marketing campaign in that period.

Perhaps the most talked about feature of the iPhone is its screen. It is only now that the new phone was taken in critically of its screen; it was always praised ever since the original one came out.

The new talks on the street are not related to how mesmerizing is the phone’s screen resolution but how small is the screen size. It has been 3.5-inch diagonally but to catch up with the competition for the first time in the handset’s history it has to bring in a bigger screen.

It is rumoured that the new iPhone is taller in size. The width is the same as iPhone 4S but height has been increased to make way for a 4-inch display with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
