Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf of Imran Khan Thursday faced a major setback as the ANP leader Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour snatched his seat he had lost to Imran Khan in the May 11 elections.

All eyes had been on NA-one Peshawar and Bilour was lucky to get back his seat with the support of the PPP and JUI-F. PTI had the support of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The ANP supported fired in the air to celebrate Bilour’s victory. Bilour broke down when he remembered his brother Bashir Ahmed Bilour who was killed by a Taliban bomber few months ago.

Bilour complained the ANP campaign never got as much airtime as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s during the general elections.

“The same happened during the by-elections but our supporters stood by us. Our friends from other parties stood by us.”

Imran Khan congratulated Bilour on election victory.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain called Bilour and congratulated him on his election victory.

PTI also lost another seat in Mianwali where its candidate Malik Waheed Khan lost to PML-N Ubaidullah Shadi Khel. The seat was vacated by Imran Khan. The results so far showed PTI lost both of Imran Khan’s National Assembly’s seats.

The ANP provincial assembly candidate Ahmed Khan also won Mardan seat that was vacated by Amir Haider Khan Hoti, the former KPK chief minister. He had retained the NA seat from Mardan. PTI’s candidate Omar Farooq was defeated on Mardan seat.

In Islamabad, PTI Asad Umar is leading in the votes counted so far. PML-N Ashraf Gujar is behind him, according to the counting so far.

In Punjab PML-N is leading on five National Assembly seats while the PPP is ahead on three seats while PTI on two seats in Punjab.

In Interior Sindh, PPP candidates are leading while in Karachi the MQM is ahead of rivals on both National Assembly and provincial assembly seats.
