Imran Khan’s lawyer Hamid Khan has reportedly said that the response to the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s defamation notice is being withdrawn on the instructions of his client on August 27, 2014. Imran Khan has accused former CJ of rigging the 2013 elections.

Hamid Khan had said in the letter to ex Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry that his client did not mean to disrespect any member of judiciary and asked former CJ to reconsider the idea of getting into personal litigation.

Iftikhar Chaudhry had sent a  defamation notice to Imran Khan through his lawyer on July 24, 2014 demanding apology or payment of Rs200 million as compensation.

Imran Khan told his supporters that he stand by his allegations against former Chief Justice for his alleged involvement in the rigging of 2013 polls.

PTI Secretary Information Shireen Mazari also told reporters that Imran’s lawyer Hamid Khan sent the response without consulting with Imran Khan.
