Apple is going for the alleged television next year. The appliance might be in the making currently but it will be put on sale in 2013, summers or fall, whichever is suitable to them. As the expectations spike up on the release of the new television, maybe called Apple TV or iTV, many companies have started to gauge the anticipation of consumers on what they expect next year.

One of such surveys conducted recently revealed that almost 49 percent of Americans willing to buy the new Apple television. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said in a research note Tuesday. Apple is expected to start selling its rumoured iTV in mid- to late 2013, Munster said.

Apple has always been known for the anticipation it brings to its consumers on the products. That is one of the reasons why the company is the most profitable because most of its products sell for sole of reason of suspense.

Furthermore, 29% of respondents said they were not in the market for a new TV, but would enter the market if Apple were to come out with a television. Munster and other observers strongly suspect Apple will jump into the TV set business.

While the concept of an Apple television has generated significant interest, only 12% of the interested respondents said they would be willing to pay the estimated $1,500 retail price for a 42-inch Apple television. Still, that could add up to big sales for Apple.

“If Apple gained 10% share of the U.S. TV market in (fiscal year 2014), as opposed to our surveyed 12%, TV sales would still add (about) 4% to our FY14 revenue estimates,” Munster wrote.

Many consumers would be willing to interrupt the usual 7-year TV product life cycle to buy an Apple television, Munster said.

“The hurdle Apple is going to face with winning consumers to Apple Television is price,” Munster said.

Among others the top three most attractive features in the new Apple television were ecosystem (21%), an easy-to-use remote control (19%) and Internet connectivity (18%).
