Dr Shakil Afridi, who helped the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) in locating Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, has claimed that ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) funds militants in the country.

He claimed, “It is now indisputable that militancy in Pakistan is supported by the IS and Pakistan’s fight against militancy is bogus. It’s just to extract money from America”.

Fox News claimed that its correspondent had conducted the interview in the Peshawar Centre Jail. However, it didn’t indicate whether it was video or audio interview.

Quoting Dr Afridi, the transcript of the interview said that he was severe tortured and suffered brutal interrogation.

Dr Afridi claimed, “I tried to argue that America was Pakistan’s biggest supporter – billions and billions of dollars in aid, social and military assistance – but all they rejected it. These are our worst enemies. You helped our enemies”.

He further said that he was tortured with cigarette burns and electric shocks and ISI officers attacked him for assisting the CIA.

Describing a regime of perpetual torture and interrogation for large numbers of detainees”, some of whom include white western male converts to Islam caught while travelling to Afghanistan to fight NATO troops or to join militant camps in FATA.

He stated that he was told by others that the intelligence agencies advice terrorists to make things up to tell CIA interrogators pretend this and that.

He claimed, “The militants were told by the ISI, ‘According to the Americans, we’re supposed to arrest you. We don’t want anything to do with you, but will support you by letting you go. Go back to Afghanistan and steer clear of the Americans.’ And then they would be released”.

The detained doctor said that he was advised by his CIA handlers to flee to Afghanistan, where he and his family would be taken care of but he didn’t bother it necessary.

Afridi was quoted saying, “I have a lot of respect and love for your people and I am proud to work with CIA. My bank account was looted [by the ISI while being held], making me bankrupt. I need financial, legal and diplomatic help”.

He further said that his situation was very grim and his family suffered $160, 000 in lost income, legal fees and living costs.

Afridi was sentenced in May to 33 years in jail by a tribal court for funding and supporting the Lashkar-e-Islam militant group.

This phoney doctor Shakil Afridi should be hanged in public for Treason because of his alleged links with Al Qaida and Taliban. He has the audacity to run down the premier Pakistani spy agency ISI just to please his masters in USA, Al Qaida and Taliban, so that they can arrange his release from the prison, which he rightly deserves. He and others like him should be taught a lesson that traitors of Pakistan cannot be tolerated. If he was not guilty of treason, then why was he trying to escape to his masters in Afghanistan. It is alleged that he had been on the payroll of CIA since 2009 and had already placed his immediate family in USA so that he could escape to USA after selling his country. He should remember that USA has always dumped its closest allies e.g. Shah of Iran, Marcos, Saddam Hussein and the list goes on. ISI and the Government of Pakistan should never allow the release of this traitor.
