Barak Obama keen to concentrate on Asia Pacific for a ‘better’ future

The American President, Barak Obama, has revealed that his country will ensure a long-term stay in Asia Pacific region which, he strongly believes, is set to play an instrumental role in world politics in the years to follow.

The black president has aired these views while addressing to the Australian parliament today.

He claims that Asia, which homes almost half of the world population and contains most of the world nuclear powers, will determine whether human beings are to live on this planet with peace or have to engage in wars.

By giving this policy statement, Obama has sent a shock message to China which wants America and other international powers to pull out of the Asian region so that it can pursue its own agenda of becoming the world leader freely.

Some analysts suggest that the main reason behind America’s stay in Asia is to contain the sky-rocketing development and influence of China which is rapidly spreading its tentacles around Africa, Central Asia and East Asia.

However, Obama has clarified today that Washington wants friendly ties and concrete cooperation with Beijing in terms of joint war games, intelligence sharing and trade relations. The president has also urged China to support America’s efforts to hamper
the arms proliferation in the Korean region.

Obama has unleashed these views at the time when the politics experts are predicting endgame after America’s decision of demilitarizing Afghanistan within a few years. He has made the world realised that America is not going to vacate the Asian region despite
pulling its forces from Kabul.

The America and NATO troops have been fighting a war on terror in Afghanistan and Pakistan since the dreadful incident of 9/11. However, China calls America’s designs in question, warning that the world powers are keen to dominate the region and grab its
abundant natural resources. Apart from China, some other Asian nations also think the same.

Whatever the agenda and its implications are, one thing is obvious that Asia Pacific is set to become a potential player in international politics.
