Stuxnet-like virus to rise soon from soil of the Three Lions

The United Kingdom government has given the green signal to Government Communications Headquarters-UK to group up a team of experts for the prevention of cyber crime and launch of e-attacks on rogue states that are behind major malicious activities in the
world.

However, it is anticipated that this new group which is expected join hands with the US and Israel in subduing the crooks of the world, will be focusing more on swoop attacks.

The UK government, not to mention the prime minister David Cameron, are fully supporting the GCHQ in forming up a special unit for taking such measures in preventing any major catastrophes in the world, more than what it has already seen.

It is also cogitated that the new group might launch a new cyber attack on states that are following the track-lines of Iran. Iran’s nuclear infrastructure was infected by Stuxnet malware last year.

The virus, that held a host of spyware with it, targeted Siemens hardware and Microsoft Windows operating systems in reconnaissance  of important information regarding the nuclear development in the country. However, it did not inflict any harm to the host
if it had no relation to the nuclear assets in Iran, like a personal computer.

However, it provided to the source subsequent information. Symantec Systems announced earlier in 2010 that around 90 percent of the PCs in Iran are inoculated with Stuxnet. Russian security systems corporation, Kaspersky Labs later that year stated that
a spread of this magnitude cannot be made possible without the help a government.

In May 2011, Gary Samore, White House Coordinator for Arms Control and Weapons of Mass Destruction, said in a statement, "We’re glad they [the Iranians] are having trouble with their centrifuge machine and that we – the US and its allies – are doing everything
we can to make sure that we complicate matters for them."

It is possible that the GCHQ funded and the UK’s foreign intelligence agency, SIS (MI6)-supported new division might take some defensive step in the same direction. A credible source revealed that this new cyber crime unit is pointing fingers at Russia and
China for being the notorious states involved in malevolent activities.
