The operating system is another issue that most users tend to overlook. The older the OS is, the more are the chances of your PC getting infected with malware and viral software.

  • The first step in this process is to check the minimum hardware requirement of the latest operating system in the market—Windows 7 has different prerequisites to the hardware than Windows Vista and  the upcoming Windows 8 has even more lighter code, at least that’s what Microsoft claims.
  • The most important of all of them is to upgrade the RAM. In the latter part of the post, I have laid out the process of increasing internal memory, keeping in view the architecture of operating system.
  • In most of the cases, upgrading the processor is optional. However, it might be of great benefits if the latest and greatest processor is installed in CPU.
  • There are back-up software available in the market to save the data on hard drives or Microsoft boasts the upgrade system on their website, www.microsoft.com.
  • The newer operating system will be more secure and more compatible to a number of software that cannot be run on the likes of Vista and XP.
