Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has proposed the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan should open their office for the peace talks with the government.

Talking to reporters at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) after visiting injured if the Church suicide bombings on Wednesday also advised the government to open for talks with the Taliban.

He was of the view that if the Taliban can open office in Qatar then why the TTP get the same opportunity in Pakistan.

Imran Khan stressed the need for negotiation with Taliban for bringing peace in the country as war is not solution to any issue.

He said dialogue with Taliban is possible after ceasefire. He said the All Parties Conference had unanimously decided to talk to the Taliban and there should be progress to achieve the goal.

He said PTI favours talks with the Taliban as the people had given mandate for peace. He said talks with the Taliban is a complicated matter, however, the opportunity should not be missed.

He called upon the government to take the initiative and declare a ceasefire if it is serious in holding talks with the Taliban.

“It is to be regretted that on one hand, there were talks of holding negotiations whereas on the other, war was still ongoing. How would it be possible to hold peace talks,” he said.

He warned that non-serious approach towards the talks could complicate the situation, asking the government to take negotiations seriously.

About the attack on the church, the PTI chief said that the tragedy had been politicized, adding that nearly 170 blasts had taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the past nine years under previous governments, but PTI had not politicised these attacks.

Imran Khan also attended a high level meeting in Peshawar on the security situation in the province.
