Samsung showcases new Series 9 ultra-slim laptops at 2012 Consumer Electronic Show – Part 1

2011 was claimed as the year of tablets and the technology reined in last year’s version of Consumer Electronic Show. However, this year, as predicted, the CES 2012 edition was deemed as the show of ultrabooks.

2011 CES never heard the name ultrabook for once in its three days of work but this year Intel—credited for the name—has come forward to take the new tech into its stride. The company has announced a new line of chipsets and processors designated to super-slim laptops and there are a number of companies who have announced their new devices based on these semi-conductors.

However, Samsung did not wait for either Intel’s ultrabook processors or the Windows 8. They launched a new super-slim notebook at the show. This new device is the successor to Samsung’s Series 9 laptops. The original Series 9 notebook came out at the 2011 CES and was an eye-catcher at the event.

The new device did not lag behind in the race and comes with its older sibling face-to-face on several fronts.

The 2011 edition of the notebook no doubt gathered viewers’ attention at the event but it lacked efficiency in some areas.

First of all, the track pad was not as efficient as compared to then-reining Macbook Air by Apple. Moreover, Windows 7 seemed a little worked up on the slim device because of the lack of high-tech specifications. Furthermore, the price of the premium notebook was even more premium. At $1650, the Series 9 2011 edition was way out of the reach of ultrabook enthusiasts, who wanted to look outside the Macbook region, mostly because of the price.

This year’s version of what Samsung calls the Ultraslim line, has addressed all of these issues. The mouse pad works more efficiently though it has not reached the benchmark set by Apple in its flagship ultrabook Macbook Air.

What MAC standard are you talking about. The mac has all the nothing in the world. Lousy keyboard, lousy screen, lousy software, and most of all lousy track pad! Why did u ever use a MAC? If you do you should have known that there is no right and left click on it. Neither it does posses even the basic DELETE key! You’re a moron!
