Apple hits record iPhones and iPads sales

Apple’s products expectations were always high but without the figure of Steve Jobs, analysts have had doubts about whether Apple would exceed sales or not.

But Apple has returned to destroy all the odds as they ended the first quarter of the fiscal year on a high with 117% rise in profit, up to 13.061 million dollars (10,000 million Euros). The company’s sales amounted to 46.333 million
dollars (about 35,600 million Euros), up 73% from a year ago.

The Cupertino firm has thus far exceeded the estimates of revenue and benefits by analyst’s record sales of iPhones and Macs. In addition to announcing historical revenue and profits, the company said it has new products "incredible"
in the pipeline ready to launch.

Although their attention is focused primarily on iPhone sales at the moment, Apple have increased competition with Google’s Android devices. However, Apple managed to sell a record 37.04 million units of interactive phone in three
months, 128% more than the same period in 2010.

The other point of discussion is the iPad tablet. Apple shipped 15.43 million units of the electronic device, an increase of 111% in a year, which is a new record.

The company nearly doubled the sales and more than doubled their profits in the first full quarter since Tim Cook has joined the help, who replaced Steve Jobs in August. At that time Gross margin was 44.7%, compared with 38.5%
in the same quarter last year. In the meanwhile, International sales accounted for 58% of revenues during the quarter.

And for the first time Apple’s managed to exceed their quarterly sales by those of Hewlett Packard, for the first time. Although both have different fiscal calendars, the figures could not be accounted perfectly. Apple sales, 46.333
million, were far from the reach of HP, whose record quarterly revenue is 32,300 million.

"We are delighted with our excellent results and record sales of iPhones, iPads. The momentum of Apple is incredibly strong and we have some incredible new products in the pipeline.” Apple chief executive was quoted as saying.

Apple market sales contrast with those of companies like Microsoft and Intel, who are having difficulty in personal computer sales, partly because customers are inclined to interactive phones or tablets like the IPhone itself.

Other phone manufacturers are also struggling to match Apple. HTC and Motorola have been disappointed with their latest quarterly results, while RIM, maker of Blackberry, has plummeted 90% in the stock market since 2008 and has
replaced its top executives this week.
