HP Folio 13

The HP Folio 13 is the best in the non-Apple products in terms of performance, price, and ergonomics, provided you can live with a less-than-razor-thin design.

Although you might have to sacrifice the thinness in this device, it is certainly cheaper than most of the bunch and the Beats Audio version also has an optical drive to fill up the hole that remained unaddressed to date.

The shape is coherent and for users like me, who like Macbook Pro purely because of uniform design, HP Folio just fits the bill.

Moreover, the Core i5 CPU will a good option to boot the upcoming Windows 8.
Dell XPS 13

Dell packs a 13-inch display into a very small footprint in the XPS 13 ultrabook, making it one of the few slim laptops that actually tops the MacBook Air in some areas.

XPS 13 is the most Macbook Air-like device to date. Of course, Asus Zenbook is another option but this notebook is lighter and cheaper than most of its foes that do not have Apple logo slapped on the back.
Toshiba Portege Z835-P330

The Toshiba Portege Z835 is incredibly light and offers great bang for the buck in some areas–but it cuts a pretty serious corner by dropping the CPU to an Intel Core i3.

The Japanese makers have surely pulled off one of the slimmest devices in the market. The Portege is also the cheapest in the bunch starting from $800. Moreover its footprint is one of the smallest in the market and its is also one of the lightest.
