Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, has hinted at launching their first ever mobile and insisted that more laptop style devices Surface are in the pipeline in his annual letter to shareholders.
The technology giants are arguably a pioneer in the world of the video games ahead of Sony. Microsoft, who introduced the computer processors initially, launched Xbox console and sold millions of units till date.
The change in focus of the company, whose helm went from Gates to Ballmer in 2000, has been moving toward Internet-neglected field by Gates in the 90 – and mobility, which was also the first company attentive global software.
“We’ve got a big challenge in front of us. We’re a very small player, but we have a different point of view in terms of user experience. We’ve got great cloud integration with the rest of the Microsoft world, which a lot of people
participate in. So I think our point of view on user interface, the great work that our hardware vendors are doing and the integration with Windows should help ratchet us up.”
“We are uniquely positioned to lead in these areas given the breadth of our devices and services portfolio, as well as our large, global partner and customer base and the growing Windows ecosystem,” concludes Ballmer.
Ballmer recalls Microsoft’s Internet services, such as Skype telephony, storage service SkyDrive cloud or SmartGlass multimedia synchronization, which lets you select a video from a computer and watch it on any device, as well
as the Office for mobile devices, prepared both touch screens to devices with pointer.
Nevertheless, for the third consecutive year, the bonus has been lowered Ballmer by the Board of Directors, having fallen selling computers with Windows. The bonus stays at $ 620,000, up to 9% from the previous year, according
to documents filed in Securities and Exchange Commission.
