PCB announces Pakistan’s squad for Asia Cup :

Misbah-Ul-Haq retains as Captain of the side:
Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the final team for the Asia Cup 2012. Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik and Adnan Akmal have been dropped while the much needed wicket keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed and the left handed batsman Nasir Jamshed have been added in the squad.
Jamshed have played a total number of 12 ODI’s and scored four half centuries with a healthy average of 35.
Misbah-ul-Haq will resume as the captain and will be accompanied by a number of star players to ensure the top performance by the Green team at the coming event.
The final team to represent Team Pakistan at the contest include Muhammad Hafeez , Nasir Jamshed , Younis Khan, Azhar Ali, Omer Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Misbah-ul-Haq (Captain), Shahid Khan Afridi, Hammad Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Omer Gul, Wahab Riaz and Aizaz Cheema .
Ahmed Shahzad is also included in team but only as part of the reserve squad along with Bilawal Bhatti, Afaq Rahim, Rahat Ali and Muhamamd Khalil.
Indian squad of fifteen men to represent the Team Blue in Asia Cup are, MS Dhoni (Captain),Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar,Virat Kohli (vice-captain),Rohit Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Vinay Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Suresh Raina,R Ashwin, Yusuf Pathan, Rahul Sharma and Manoj Tiwary.
The third big team in the contest is Sri Lanka and it will be accompanied by Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Angelo Mathews (vice-capt), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Farveez Maharoof, Sachithra Senanayake Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Seekkuge Prasanna and Suranga Lakmal.
Bangladesh is the fourth team participating at the event and the final squad is not yet announced by its cricket board.
A total number of seven ODI’s will be played amongst the four teams starting from March 12th and a final winner will pick the trophy on March 22nd.
1st ODI- Bangladesh Vs Pakistan on Monday March 12th
2nd ODI- India Vs Sri Lanka on March 13th
3rd ODI- Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka March 15th
4th ODI- Bangladesh Vs India March 16th
5th ODI- India Vs Pakistan March 18th
6th ODI-Bangladesh Vs Sri Lanka March 20th
7TH ODI- The final match will be played between the top two teams on March 22nd

yeah for Imran Nazir Lovers, The guy does not deserve the ODI, probably the T20 but yeah.. He is a pure slog and I think Misbah is a fine choice for ODIs but Asad Shafiq and Omer Akmal really have to prove themselves here or they are done.

I think the squad is not good but we hope Inshaallah pak will win and Shahid Khan Afridi is a best choice for Captain but Imran Nazir Abdul Razzaq Kamran Akmal and Avais Zia is much better in Squad to select.

Shahed Khan Afridi should lead the Pakistan cricket team in all forms for the games. Importantly Imran Nazir must be included in the team because he is very good batsman and fielder. Mr. Afridi must play his natural game while other players must look for good start and partnerships. Kamran akmal is also a good player if given proper guidance by Afridi. A part form Mr. Afridi, every player must not forget their responsibilities and must stick to the cricket basics. Thats it……Thanks

muhammad sami is in a great touch. he performed superbly in the BPL. why the selectors are not considering him. pakistan pace attack is not up to the mark. only Gul is the one who can challange the batsmen in asia cup. his performance was also shaky against england. Muhammad sami should be included in the squad. pakistan also should produce a good a wicket keeper batsman. all the other countries have plenty of good wicket keeper batsmen.
Kamran akmal also played well in bpl.His strokes r really good like ausis and indian players…i cannot understand that why kamran and imran nazir r not elected in aquad? and AFRIDI must come for bat at no.4…usually they send him in last some pressure overs and iN the meanwhile AFRIDI cannot get time and choice for good shorts. In sha ALLAH asia cup is ours.

whats the metter? y u r not taking KAMRAN AKMAL into the team? SARFRAZ is the 3rd clas player and keeper and u r taking him in the place of an authorised PLAYER KAMRAN AKMAL. THats realy a bad choice. and i wana say to bahadar that IMRAN NAZIR is not a good international player at all. he is just useful in domestic cricket. SHAHID AFRIDI and UMER AKMAL r nt the middle order players and they r best at their place. BY taking them down its realy a bad desission bcz they r atacking players and middle orders r always defenders. just like yusaf, inzi, yunas, misbah, shafiq, saleem malik, etc….
